Happiness Conference 2010 in Skövde, Sweden
On 5-6 June, Charity International is staging its fourth Happiness Conference, this time in the Swedish city of Skövde. The event is held in conjunction with the University of Skövde, one of the few schools in the world that offer an education in positive psychology. Participants and speakers are expected from around the world. The theme for the conference will be positive psychology. Conference participants will also get the chance to try different happiness strategies on Sunday between 10 am and noon.
Speakers at the conference include Joar Vittersö from Norway and Joshua Freedman of the United States. All the speakers are experts in positive psychology.
The Happiness Conference is free and open to all.

The speakers
Joshua Freedman Chief Operating Officer of Six Seconds, Joshua helps lead the world's preeminent emotional intelligence organization. A leader, author, and educator, Freedman takes hard science and makes it applicable. Joshua's applied research focuses on organizational climate and the factors that enhance individual and team performance. Using the "Organizational Vital Signs" survey, he has worked with a range of organizations to identify key relationship and emotional intelligence factors that limit and enhance success. More info |
Armen Doslic Armen Doslic is a contact person for Charity International in Lund. He has carried out several studies about happiness and wellbeing and wants to find out how people can enhance their happiness and wellbeing through mental training. Armen has, together with the legendary sports psychologist Lars Erik Uneståhl, PhD, and in cooperation with the SLH (Skandinaviska Ledarhögskolan) developed an 8 weeks training program "Mental training for a happier life". |
Ali Kazemi Ali Kazemi, Ph.D. in Psychology, is an Associate Professor of Social Psychology at University of Skövde in Sweden. His research interests include: well-being and happiness, theory-driven program evaluations, cross-cultural psychology, social psychology of decision making, fairness in working life, conflict management and Human Resource Management. |
Joar Vittersø Joar Vittersø is a professor of psychology at the Department of Psychology at the University of Tromsø, Norway. He holds a Ph.D. in social psychology from the University of Oslo. Vittersø’s research interests focus on life satisfaction, positive emotions and the measurement of happiness. |
Sakari Kallio Sakari Kallio is a lector at the University of Skövde, Sweden and dosent at the University of Turku, Finland. Together with Professor Antti Revonsuo and Monica Bergman he has started a three year undergraduate program "The Psychological Coach". This program combines cognitive neuroscience with psychology, and especially with the new field of positive psychology. Sakari Kallio's research interests are about altered states of consciousnesses, especially about hypnosis but also meditation. More info |
Ludvig Lindström Ludvig Lindström is the President of Charity International and initiator of the Happiness Conferences. He founded the organization at the beginning of 2007. |
Erik Fernholm Erik Fernholm is a speaker on Positive Psychology who is dedicated to three goals; understanding the human mind (Neuroscience and Psychology), taking direction towards how we thrive and flourish (Positive Psychology), and finally, moving towards more fulfilled and meaningful lives as individuals and society at large (Coaching). Erik is the contact person for Charity International in Skövde, the Chairman of Sweden's Academic Coaches, founder of the non-profit Lyckoaktivist.se (Happinessactivist) and a student of Positive Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience at the Psychological Coach program, University of Skövde. |
